Should you hold your wedding ceremony and reception in the same location or choose two spots? Why Use One Location?

You may also find that it makes the wedding cost less as a whole because you can do more arrangements in bulk or in a package deal.

A single venue also makes some wedding day logistics easier. There is no travel time between venues, so you aren't wasting hours. Guests don't have to figure out where to go and you don't have to wait for them to trickle in. Recycled décor and items, such as chairs or flowers, don't need packed up and moved to another property. And the wedding party's belongings can stay safe in one spot. 

Why Use Two Locations? 

Two locations opens up more possibilities than a single space. First, if you really want a particular ceremony spot that isn't conducive to parties — such as a church or public garden — moving to a second location for the reception may not be avoidable. But even if you just want an unconventional or informal ceremony space, you can still have a big, traditional party in a proper reception venue. 

Although there is some travel between the two locations, separating the ceremony and reception can make other elements easier. You aren't converting the same space from one use to another — often in a rush during a one-hour cocktail — nor are you reusing most of the materials. And reception setup can continue during the ceremony, which is not possible when you're using it to say 'I do'.
