Do you and your boyfriend or girlfriend want to get married but you're not sure that you can have a wedding right now? Are you and your future spouse worried about friends and family members not being able to share in your special day? Although social distancing is here to stay, at least for a little while, that doesn't mean that you need to give up all plans of having the wedding of your dreams. You might have to make a few adjustments, but there's no reason why your special day can't be truly special. Some suggestions on plans that need to be made include:

Have an outdoor wedding: Many social distancing guidelines now say to avoid gathering indoors because that makes it easier for the coronavirus to spread from person to person. Fortunately, this makes a beautiful garden wedding an ideal solution. When people are outdoors and are observing the proper social distancing guidelines, it's much less likely that you or your guests will bring home Covid19 from your wedding. If you are religious and set on being married in a church, you could still have a church wedding with just your spouse and your witnesses and then hold a second ceremony outdoors that more guests will be able to attend.

Turn your masks into a fashion accessory: No matter whether you choose to hold a garden wedding or some other type of ceremony, it'll still be essential for you and your guests to wear masks to promote good hygiene. This doesn't mean that your wedding photos have to show everyone in ordinary surgical masks, however. Many brides are turning to lacy face masks or face mask coverings that match their wedding gowns. Grooms can wear a mask or mask covering that matches their suit. If you coordinate and get your entire wedding party to wear matching face masks, your photos will still be stunning and beautiful in years to come.

Stream the ceremony & reception: Even with a garden wedding, there will probably be people who will be unable to attend because they themselves are sick, are immunocompromised, or live with someone who is either of these things. While they may not be able to be present physically, they can still be with you in spirit if you arrange to have your ceremony streamed and available for these otherwise-guests to watch. You can also make arrangements for these guests to participate in the reception via video chat. Even if your best man can't be there in person to make a speech, he can still do so over a video connection.
