Planning a wedding can be quite a daunting task. There are numerous factors to consider with both the ceremony and the reception, not to mention rehearsals and rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, the honeymoon, and even gift opening parties after the wedding. It can be a lot to take in. However, if you focus on one aspect of the wedding at a time and break that down into steps, you will be able to get through everything with surprising ease. Get to know some of the most important factors to consider when you are planning the wedding ceremony itself. Then, you can be sure you are paying attention to all of the details and you get everything just the way you want it on your big day.

The Officiant

One of the most important decisions you will need to make for your wedding ceremony is choosing an officiant. Are you religious and a part of a church community? If so, do you have a priest, pastor, or other church leader you would like to have officiate your wedding?

If so, you will want to ask them as soon as possible to set the date for your ceremony and ensure that they are booked for your ceremony. If you are not a part of a church, think about what you would like for your wedding ceremony. Do you want someone with religious authority? If so, you will want to research churches and reach out to the pastor of the one that seems to fit your tastes.

Otherwise, think about friends or family members you may want to have officiate for you. Talk to your partner and decide together about who would be the best fit. Then, ask them to get ordained so they are allowed to officiate your ceremony.

The Location

Along with your officiant, you will need to decide on a location for your wedding. Church weddings are only one option that is available to you. Outdoor weddings, home weddings, or weddings in halls, hotels, or other venues are options. Some people even get married at zoos or aquariums and other interesting locations.

Think about what speaks most to you as far as locations go. Make a short list of possibilities and then visit each location in person. Then, choose the one that you can best picture yourself getting married in.

The Flowers and Decor

When you are planning the wedding ceremony, the location and the officiant are probably the most important considerations. However, you also want your space to look phenomenal. Thus, you need to keep your flowers and decor in mind.

What colors would you like to have in your venue and in your wedding? Choose flowers in variations of those colors. For example, if purple is one of your colors, get flowers in dark, light, and medium purple and mix them together to create a beautiful array of flowers to decorate the aisle, the seating, and the alter.

Once you choose the flowers, the other decor will more easily fall into place. With the purple flowers example, white ribbon for bows and decor may be an option that would look good. Silver may be another option. For red and orange flowers, gold may be a better option.

The flowers and decor will create the ambiance of your wedding and should be carefully chosen to best suit the season and your personal taste.

Now that you know some of the most important factors to consider when planning your wedding ceremony, you can get started and ensure that you are able to get everything chosen and decided in the easiest way possible.
